Help · Getting started
Solo mode — ConKarma before you invite anyone.
You can use ConKarma alone. Plenty of people start that way and add their cell weeks later, when the routine has settled. Here’s what works pre-cell and what lights up once you have at least one other person.
You can use ConKarma entirely on your own before inviting anyone. In solo mode, self-set missions and duties, journals, time capsules, habit packs, achievements, streaks, and daily quests all work, and you can spend EGO on the full reward catalog — cosmetics, mystery boxes, and habit packs — without anyone else in the picture. Plenty of people start solo and add their cell weeks later once the routine has settled.
A few features need at least two people: assigning missions to someone else, gifting, sibling chore-trades, the cell-shared journal tier, and the monthly family narrative. In solo mode you only earn EGO, the for-yourself currency; DNA starts when someone else owns what you complete. Switching to a cell loses no data — your solo activity becomes the first chapter of your cell's history.
What works solo
Self-set missions and duties. Journals. Time capsules. Habit packs. Achievements. Streaks. Daily quests. The reward catalog — you can spend EGO on cosmetics, mystery boxes, and habit packs without anyone else in the picture.
What needs at least two
Mission assignment to someone (you can only set missions for yourself solo). Gifting. Trusted-social flags. The cell-shared journal visibility tier. Sibling chore-trades. Kid-to-parent mission assignment. The monthly family narrative — it needs cell history to draw from.
You stay on EGO until you add someone
In solo mode you only earn EGO (the for-yourself currency). DNA earning starts when someone else owns the mission, duty, or penalty you complete. They both spend on the same things.
Switching from solo to a cell
No data is lost. Your solo activity becomes the first chapter of your cell’s history. Anyone you invite sees what you’ve marked cell-shared from before they joined; private and personal entries stay yours alone.
Switching from a cell back to solo
Leaving a cell forfeits its DNA balance but not the cosmetics and habit packs you’ve already unlocked. You can be a solo user with a previous cell’s history available read-only on the calendar.
Frequently asked questions
Can I really use ConKarma without inviting anyone?
Yes. Self-set missions, journals, time capsules, habit packs, achievements, streaks, daily quests, and the reward catalog all work solo. Plenty of people start that way and add a cell later.
What can't I do until I add another person?
Assigning missions to someone else, gifting, trusted-social flags, sibling chore-trades, kid-to-parent mission assignment, the cell-shared journal tier, and the monthly family narrative all need at least two people.
Why am I only earning EGO and not DNA?
In solo mode you only earn EGO, the for-yourself currency, because DNA is earned when someone else owns the mission, duty, or penalty you complete. Both currencies spend on the same things.
If I add a cell later, do I lose my solo history?
No data is lost. Your solo activity becomes the first chapter of your cell's history. People you invite see only what you'd marked cell-shared; private and personal entries stay yours alone.
