For families

Daily rhythm for the people who actually live together.

ConKarma turns the small daily questions — Who fed the dog? Did you finish your reading? Are we still doing taco Tuesday? — into something the whole household contributes to. One operating layer for the rituals that hold a family together, without nagging, without feeds, and without selling your kid's data.

ConKarma gives a household one private operating layer for the small daily rituals that hold a family together — who fed the dog, who finished their reading, whether taco Tuesday is still on. Your family is its own closed circle, called a Cell: no public profiles, no strangers, no algorithmic feed, and no selling your kid's data. Everyone contributes on their own terms, with surfaces shaped to their age, so a six-year-old, a teen, and an adult each read the same family rituals in the vocabulary they have.

Daily quests replace yearly goals, streaks freeze for the bad weeks instead of piling on guilt, and earned DNA flows around the household to match the work people actually do. Under-13 accounts run with verified COPPA consent and a parental gate on purchases, so kids can't accidentally spend.

01

A private Cell, not a public feed

Your family is its own closed circle inside the app. No public profiles, no strangers, no algorithmic feed. What happens in your Cell stays there. Adults set the tone; kids contribute on their own terms; nobody is performing for an audience.

02

Age-aware everything

Kids see kid-shaped surfaces. Teens see teen-shaped surfaces. Adults see the full app. The screen-guard ensures content meant for adults can't appear on a child's account, even if everyone shares a device. Profile-switch is one tap and collapses the app to the right age.

03

Parental controls that actually mean something

Verified COPPA consent for under-13 accounts. Parent approval gate on in-app purchases — kids can't accidentally spend, and you approve anything that costs real money. Review or revoke anytime from Settings → Child Accounts, or by emailing parents@conkarma.app.

04

Routines that survive a bad week

Streaks with built-in freezes for the days when nothing goes right. Daily quests instead of yearly goals. DNA earned for completed habits flows around the Cell — co-completion is rewarded. The point is the rhythm, not the counter.

05

Built for the way real households actually share work

DNA flows where the work goes — kids can earn from chores their siblings traded them; parents can match a kid's effort with a top-up payout; rewards from a co-completed mission can split however you decide post-completion. The household economy bends around what actually happens, not the other way.

06

Everyone picks their own look

Each cell member — parent, kid, partner — builds their own 2D avatar from hair, skin, eyes, outfit, and accessory options. Looks show up in the cell view and on shared annals. Earned cosmetics from quests and habit packs expand what’s available over time. No real photos required, no profile picture upload.

07

Therapist export when the family needs an outside read

A one-shot PDF — Cell Relationship-Health Report — you can hand to a therapist or mediator. Patterns only, never raw journal content. The trigger is your call: a tough patch, a co-parenting situation, a coach asking for engagement evidence. Pay per export; no subscription.

08

Honest streaks for kids, not guilt streaks

Duties auto-pause after 3 missed days so a bad week doesn't pile up shame. Partial credit on weekly-cadence duties — one missed day in a 4-day streak still gives 75%, not zero. The streak is a signal, never a punishment. Same fairness pattern applies to adults; it just matters most for the kids.

09

One app, three vocabularies

Reading-age-aware copy means the same mission card reads at three different levels depending on who's looking — a six-year-old sees short, age-appropriate prompts; a teen sees normal sentences; an adult sees full text with the policy nuance. The mapping is automatic from each account's age tier, never an extra parental setting. The family's running rituals look the same from every angle, but everyone reads them in the vocabulary they actually have.

10

Sibling repair flow — structured, not scripted

When two kids in the cell argue, the sibling repair flow walks them through it. Each picks from a curated set of "what happened" cards on their own device; the BE pairs them into a shared prompt; both confirm before the moment closes. Three reading-age tiers so a six-year-old and a fourteen-year-old see the same flow at vocabulary they can parse. Curated content, no AI in the middle — full reasoning at /blog/why-conflict-tools-are-not-ai-mediated.

11

Personal Journal + Wishbook + Vents

Each cell member gets three personal-space primitives that don't leak into the family timeline. Personal Journal is the private notebook (never visible unless explicitly cell-shared). Wishbook is the curated wishlist (shareable as a token-gated landing for grandparents who didn't install the app). Vents is the permission-framed shadow-journal sub-surface (the I-need-to-say-this-out-loud space, curated cards, anti-shame voice).

12

Kid Mode — a simpler app for under-13s

Server-side age filter enforces that under-13 accounts see only the age-appropriate slice of every surface — no Ember entry, no adult conflict prompts, no Wishbook affiliate CTAs. The filter runs in the BE, not the client, so a tampered build can't lift it. Configurable upward by the cell owner. /help/kid-mode walks through the parent-side controls.

13

You choose what surfaces

Personal-hide settings let any cell member disable individual features for themselves without affecting siblings or co-parents. The BE never deletes the underlying data — flip the toggle back and the surface reappears intact. Useful when one teen wants to opt out of the streak counter without taking it away from a younger sibling who's leaning on it.

14

Meal Planner + recipe box

Build a cell-private recipe box (paste a URL, type by hand, or share-into-app). Drop recipes on a Mon-Sun grid; auto-portion against your cell's headcount. Tap Plan → Send to grocery list and ingredients flow to the family grocery list deduplicated. No public recipe feed, no algorithmic recommendations, no ads against your recipe history. See /features/meal-planner.

15

Family grocery list — real-time, multi-user

A live shared list every cell member can edit from their phone. Sync in under a second on a reasonable connection. Items carry categories for in-store sort and optional kid-tags so a teen at the store sees only the items they're responsible for. See /features/family-grocery-list.

16

Conflict resolution — sibling + cross-gen repair flows

Structured-form flows for the moments families actually have: two kids fighting (sibling repair), a parent and a teen in a hard conversation (cross-gen repair). Each kid picks from curated cards; the BE matches a shared prompt; both confirm before it lands. No AI mediation — for privacy, calibration, and agency reasons documented at /blog/why-conflict-tools-are-not-ai-mediated. See /help/sibling-conflict-resolution + /help/cross-gen-conflict-resolution.

17

Important Dates — anniversary cadence + life-event registry

Cell-private registry of birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, memorial dates. Each cell member tunes their own reminder cadence per date. Memorial dates auto-pause the cell-quest for the day without breaking the streak. See /features/important-dates.

18

Give-jar — the third allowance bucket

Alongside Spend and Save, a Give bucket flows to a vetted charity. The kid picks the split and the cause; the parent authorises the actual disbursement. COPPA-safe (no payment data on the kid surface; no external redirects from the kid view). See /features/give-jar.

19

Cell-quest — Habitica-style shared mechanic with bereavement-safe defaults

Opt-in cell-wide quest mechanic where every member's daily completion contributes to a cell-level goal. Bereavement-safe by default: when a cell member is marked away (illness, custody transition, grief), their contribution auto-pauses without breaking the cell's quest streak. Consent step at activation so the mechanic only starts once everyone has accepted. See /features/cell-quest.

20

Frame vs. Cozi / FamilyWall

Cozi and FamilyWall are the category incumbents on the calendar-and-list axis. ConKarma differentiates on the cell construct (private circles, not group accounts), the DNA / EGO economy (intrinsic motivation built in), gamification primitives (cell-quest, companion pet, streak shields with shame-free defaults), and the long-form rituals (Time Capsules, Sunday reveals) that the incumbents don't ship. We are not faster checklists; we are operating layer.
