Help · Getting started
Your first five minutes with ConKarma.
Once you've installed the app and finished the locale + birthday + nickname onboarding, here's what to do next.
Your first five minutes with ConKarma come down to five small steps after the locale, birthday, and nickname onboarding: set one habit or quest for today, invite your Cell, mark your first habit done, set up parent or partner approval if it applies, and glance at the trust strip. Start with a single ritual rather than building out everything at once — one habit that survives a week beats six that survive a day.
You invite your Cell from Settings → Cell → Invite, sending a link or QR code to the people you actually want sharing with you. From day two the streak counter starts to matter, and Apple Watch or Wear OS users can mark a habit done from the wrist.
1. Set today's intent
Open the home tab and pick one habit you'd like to build, or one quest you want to run today. Don't try to set up everything at once — one ritual that survives a week beats six that survive a day.
2. Invite your Cell
Settings → Cell → Invite. Generate a link or QR code and send it to the people you actually want sharing this with you — partner, kids, close family. Cells are private; nobody outside the Cell sees what happens inside it.
3. Mark your first habit done
From the home tab, tap the habit you set. The streak starts; you'll see DNA accrue. From day two, the streak counter starts to matter. Apple Watch and Wear OS users can mark done from the wrist.
4. Set up parent or partner approval (if it applies)
If your Cell includes a child under 13, the COPPA flow walked you through verified consent at signup. If you're sharing with a partner, you can decide together which categories of activity (intimate, financial, kids') each role can see. Settings → Cell → Roles.
5. Look at the trust strip
Built-in: no ads on child accounts, no selling your data, full export on demand. You don't need to do anything to enable these — they're how the app is built. The /privacy page on the web has the full disclosure.
Frequently asked questions
What should I do right after onboarding?
Set one habit or quest for today from the home tab, then mark it done to start your first streak. Resist setting up everything at once — one ritual that lasts a week beats six that fade in a day.
How do I invite my family or partner?
Go to Settings → Cell → Invite to generate a link or QR code, then send it to the people you want sharing with you. Cells are private, so nobody outside the Cell sees what happens inside it.
Can I mark a habit done from my watch?
Yes. Apple Watch and Wear OS users can mark a habit done from the wrist, and the streak starts as soon as you check in.
Do I need to turn on the privacy protections?
No — no ads on child accounts, no selling your data, and full export on demand are built in; you don't enable anything. The /privacy page on the web has the full disclosure.
