Spend, Save, Give — the third allowance bucket
A kid-side allowance allocation that flows to a vetted charity. The kid picks the split and the cause; the parent authorises the actual disbursement.
The Give-jar is a third allowance bucket alongside Spend and Save that lets a kid direct part of their allowance to a vetted charity. The kid picks the split each allowance period and chooses a cause from a vetted list, while the parent authorises the actual disbursement. A cell-owner enables it from Cell then Allowance then Give-jar, after which each kid sees a Give bucket in their allowance view.
No payment data is held on the kid account and there are no external website redirects from the kid surface. When the kid requests a disbursement, the parent reviews the cause and amount and approves or declines in one tap, with the authorisation logged with a timestamp for audit.
Enabling Give-jar
Cell-owner: Cell → Allowance → Give-jar → on. Each kid in the cell sees a Give bucket alongside Spend and Save in their allowance view.
Picking the split
The kid picks the split per allowance period — five dollars in, three to Spend, one to Save, one to Give. The split is editable; the kid can re-balance for a future allowance without touching past contributions.
Picking a cause
When the Give-jar accumulates, the kid picks the cause from a vetted list. The list focuses on widely-trusted operators in family-friendly cause areas. Parents can request additions for cell-specific causes (request via Settings → Allowance → Suggest a cause).
Parent-authorised disbursement
The kid requests disbursement when ready. The parent gets a review screen — the cause, the amount, a one-tap approve or decline. Parent authorises the actual transfer (charity-side payment processing the kid shouldn't do alone).
COPPA posture
No payment data is held on the kid account. No external website redirects from the kid surface. The parent's authorisation is logged with timestamp for audit.
