A shared quest with bereavement-safe defaults
Opt-in shared-quest mechanic — every cell member's daily completion adds to a cell-level goal. Bereavement-safe by default: when a cell member is away, their contribution auto-pauses without breaking the cell's streak.
A cell quest is an opt-in shared goal where every cell member's daily completions add to a single cell-level target, like clearing N stages, defeating N bosses, or reaching a destination over a week or a month. Your ordinary completed duties and missions count quest points automatically, so the daily life of the cell is the quest. Quests are bereavement-safe by default: when a member is marked away, their contribution auto-pauses and the cell's progress holds, with an away-pause badge that makes the absence visible without being punitive.
Quests only start once every member accepts a one-time consent screen. Declining is non-punitive, and an abandoned quest carries no reward but also no penalty.
Starting a quest
Cell → Quest → New quest. Pick length (a week, a month) and goal (clear N stages, defeat N bosses, reach a destination). Pick the reward — cosmetic, narrative, or a cell-shared cosmetic pack.
Consent step
Every cell member sees a one-time consent screen explaining the mechanic, the contribution counter, and the bereavement-safe away-pause defaults. The quest only starts once everyone has accepted. Declining is non-punitive — the cell-owner picks a smaller quest or no quest.
Daily contribution
Your completed duties + missions count quest points automatically. No separate quest-only actions; the daily life of the cell IS the quest.
Away-pause
When a cell member is marked away (sick, custody change, away on leave, memorial dates), their contribution auto-pauses. The cell's quest progress holds. The cell sees an away-pause badge so the absence is visible without being punitive.
Completing or abandoning
When the goal is reached, the cell unlocks the reward. If the cell-owner abandons mid-quest, no reward — but no penalty either.

Frequently asked questions
How do I start a quest for my cell?
Go to Cell then Quest then New quest, pick a length (a week or a month) and a goal such as clearing N stages or reaching a destination, then choose a cosmetic, narrative, or cell-shared reward. The quest only begins after every member accepts the consent screen.
What happens to the quest if a cell member is away?
When a member is marked away, their contribution auto-pauses and the cell's quest progress holds. An away-pause badge shows the absence so it stays visible without being punitive.
Can someone decline joining a quest?
Yes. Every member sees a one-time consent screen and the quest only starts once everyone accepts. Declining is non-punitive; the cell-owner can pick a smaller quest or no quest at all.
Do I lose anything if we abandon a quest partway?
No. If the cell-owner abandons a quest mid-way, the cell simply doesn't unlock the reward, but there is no penalty either.
