Family voice in the car — glance, speak, done

Hands-free family voice surfaces while you drive: a calendar brief, the daily question, mark-it-done on a mission, streak status, and Family Reveal Sunday playback. Backed by the same engines that run the smart-home voice surfaces, so the experience is consistent across CarPlay, Android Auto, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings.

CarPlay and Android Auto support gives you hands-free access to family surfaces while you drive — a calendar brief, the daily question, marking a mission done, streak status, and Family Reveal Sunday playback. It's voice-first with a minimal-glance fallback UI, and it shares the engines behind the smart-home voice surfaces, so the experience stays consistent across CarPlay, Android Auto, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings.

The in-car intent set was scoped for safety with short prompts, short answers, and no UI dependencies, and the in-car UI never demands typed input. ConKarma never receives raw audio: on CarPlay and Android Auto the platform transcribes the speech, and on Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings the vendor transcribes before sending metadata. The Privacy Policy carries the full sub-processor disclosure, and a driver-distraction notice appears in the ToS when you link a vehicle.

What you can do with voice

Today (BE-shipped): hear a calendar brief for the day or week; hear the daily question and dictate an answer; mark a mission, duty, or check-in done; hear the streak status for the cell or yourself; play back the Family Reveal Sunday recap. The intent set was scoped for in-car safety — short prompts, short answers, no UI dependencies.

Where it runs

iOS CarPlay and Android Auto on the phone side. Alexa Skill (smart-home voice on Echo devices), Google Home, and SmartThings on the home side. Phone-app voice surfaces via Siri and Google Assistant App Intents are currently coming soon — the in-car and smart-home paths are live first because they have the largest hands-free family use case.

Driver-distraction posture

Every surface is voice-first, with minimal-glance fallback UI for moments where a screen confirmation is necessary. The in-car UI never demands typed input. A driver-distraction notice appears in the ToS when you link a vehicle, and the Privacy Policy discloses voice-transcript routing through the platform vendor — we never receive raw audio.

Where the audio goes

On CarPlay, Siri transcribes on-device per Apple's posture; ConKarma sees the transcribed text. On Android Auto, Google Assistant does the equivalent. On Alexa / Google Home / SmartThings, the platform vendor transcribes before sending us metadata via the corresponding webhook. ConKarma never receives raw audio on any of these paths. The Privacy Policy §6 carries the full sub-processor disclosure.

Why families use it

The Sunday-morning ritual gets easier when the daily question and the Family Reveal recap play through the car speakers on the drive to brunch. Marking a duty done from the car so the kid sees the cell's progress before they get home. Triage by voice when the day's already too much for one more screen.

How to set up

Pair your phone or smart-home device once; the voice surfaces appear automatically.

  1. CarPlay or Android Auto: plug your phone in once with ConKarma installed; the app appears in the car's launcher.
  2. Alexa: enable the ConKarma skill in the Alexa app and link your account. Google Home / SmartThings: link from the respective app.
  3. Try a first intent — "Hey Siri, what's on my ConKarma calendar today?" or the equivalent on your platform.
