Trusted Cells — the four-stage consent flow
Two Cells can opt-in to a 'trusted' relationship that unlocks cross-Cell challenges and shared rituals. The flow is intentionally heavy because it's the only opt-in that lets people outside your household see anything inside it.

It starts with discovery: one parent shares a one-time pairing code with another in person or over an existing trusted channel — there's no public directory or in-app search. Then both parents in each Cell must individually confirm the trust request; no single parent can trust another household alone.
Even after trust is established, each surface requires its own separate opt-in, and either parent in either Cell can revoke trust with one immediate tap.
Stage 1 — Discovery
Trust starts when one Cell parent shares a one-time pairing code with another Cell parent (in person, or via existing trusted channel). No discovery feed, no public directory. You can't find another Cell from inside the app — only from outside.
Stage 2 — Both parents confirm
When the code is entered, both Cells see a 'Trust request' card. Both parents (in each Cell) must individually confirm. A single parent can't unilaterally trust another household. The card shows what the trust grants: 'See challenge participation, see opt-in shared rituals, see member count and first names — nothing else.'
Stage 3 — Per-feature opt-in
Even after trust is established, each surface (cross-Cell challenges, shared rituals, grandparent-layer extension) requires a separate opt-in. Trust is the prerequisite, not the activation. You can trust two Cells and still keep grandparent layer disabled with one of them.
Stage 4 — Revocation
Either parent in either Cell can revoke trust at any time. Revocation is one-tap and immediate. All cross-Cell history is removed from the revoking Cell on revoke; the other Cell sees a 'trust removed' note but keeps any shared photos already in their archive (they were granted to them at the time).
