What we shipped — After Dark on the Microsoft Store, three stores at v1
Following yesterday's Windows + Google Calendar + zone split, today's shipment lands the After Dark companion app on the Microsoft Store as its third store listing — alongside the App Store and Google Play. Distinct MSIX package, distinct Adults Only / 18+ IARC rating, distinct subscription. The tasteful-UI store-listing copy, the /platforms After Dark Windows row, the /help/windows After Dark sections, and the Promise #15 update all land in one commit.
A focused one-day shipment. After Dark is now on three stores at v1 — Apple App Store, Google Play, and Microsoft Store — matching the main-app Microsoft Store listing that landed yesterday. This is the build-in-public log entry.
After Dark on the Microsoft Store
After Dark — the 18+ couple-only companion app — now has its own Microsoft Store listing alongside the existing App Store and Google Play listings. Distinct MSIX package, distinct bundle id, distinct subscription, distinct Adults Only / 18+ IARC rating (the main ConKarma listing stays family-first, at Apple 9+). The two-app architecture — promised at /promises §15 — now holds across all three stores.
The Microsoft Store listing copy is pinned at
content/store/microsoft-store-listing-after-dark.md in the Minerva
repo for transparency. The IARC questionnaire answers are documented
in the same file; the keyword set is deliberately intimate-wellness
adjacent, not adult-content keywords — a Microsoft Store review will
reject the listing if the keyword set reads as adult-search bait, and
that's not what After Dark is anyway.
/platforms — new "Windows — After Dark (18+)" row
The /platforms page gains a new row alongside the existing main-app Windows entry — clear age-gating disclosure, link to /ember/after-dark (which carries the agewall from MINERVA-302). The marketing surface for After Dark on Windows lives inside the Ember zone; nothing about After Dark surfaces in the main ConKarma family-app navigation, in the public help index, or in the public sitemap. Promise #15 holds.
/help/windows — install + biometric + privacy + uninstall
/help/windows gains two new sections explaining the After Dark companion app on Windows:
- After Dark on Windows — the separate companion app. Why it's a separate Microsoft Store listing, what the Adults Only / 18+ IARC rating means in Microsoft's classification, and how the install path differs from the main app.
- After Dark — biometric gate + privacy + uninstall. Windows Hello biometric unlock is required on every launch — not just at OS sign-in. That's a privacy contract, not a security one: a partner, housemate, or kid using your unlocked laptop will not find After Dark open. Plus the uninstall path (soft uninstall keeps the cell content on the server; full delete via app → Settings → Privacy → Delete After Dark zone — separate from main-app account deletion, 30-day grace window applies the same way).
Promise #15 update — "three stores at launch, not just two"
The wording on /promises §15 gained the Microsoft Store mention: separate App Store / Play Store / Microsoft Store listings, Adults Only / 18+ IARC rating across all three. The "separate apps" commitment was always about three stores at launch; adding Microsoft to the wording matches what's actually live now.
Sub-processor coverage — confirmed
The Microsoft Corporation entry on /legal/subprocessors was updated to explicitly cover both Microsoft Store listings (main app + After Dark). Microsoft Corporation's role is the same — Store distribution
- Store billing — but the disclosure now names both listings so the audit trail is clean.
What this shipment didn't do
No Microsoft Store promoted-placement or ad outreach (post-launch territory per ADR-072). No marketing campaign for the third-store availability beyond /platforms + /help + this B-i-P post. The Ember zone non-discoverability commitment from ADR-005 + ADR-090 holds: the agewall at /ember/* (MINERVA-302) is the public-web disclosure layer, and that's by design.

/promises, /trust, and /build-in-public. Coordination ticket parent was CK-491; engineering ticket was MINERVA-304.
Three stores. One commitment. Quiet shipment.
